4-8-25 - font
I was trying to get a new font going for the website because I felt like the current one I was using was a little too limited in scope for my liking. The problem is mostly that it didin’t cover every Greek letter which makes it look kind of.. Meh. Some were mixed in with Arial.
And I need a clean font with compatibility for (ancient) Greek because I'm working on a page exlusively about it.

I used Calligraphr which is a useful site but it only allows for up to 75 glyphs at a time which is a pain when you want to be large in scope. Or if you want one big font. It’s fine, I just broke up large templates consisting out of around 600 glyphs total (latin + ancient greek) into rows of 75.

To actually merge the fonts together I used FontForge. But, when I actually put all of the fonts together I noticed that uppercase L through Z was missing. To fix this, I just made a seperate font for all the letters of the alphabet, inserted it into FontForge first and then merged the rest of the fonts after.

The above is what it looked like before, and this is what it looks like now. I initially made this screenshot with the intention to show off how ugly it is, but I think I’m just going to fix it because it doesn’t really look that bad. Not as pixelated as the last and it looks a little funky up close, but it’s fine.
P.S. I had to sacrifice some usability on mobile but whatever
